The Central District Court (his Hon. Justice Prof. Ofer Groskopf)recently approved a motion to certify a class action, which is based on alleged damages arising from an alleged globe-spanning cartel [see Class Action 10538-02-13 Hatzlaha Association – Movement for the Promotion of a Fair Society RA v El Al Israel Airways Ltd. et al (published on Nevo 19 January 2020)].
The Court’s decision in the motion is expected to have a significant influence on future decisions in similar issues and in similar class actions brought before Israeli courts (especially those brought on grounds of a breach of the provisions of the Competition Law).
